Spent the afternoon reacquainting myself with Kigali. Headed to the gym at the Serena Hotel, where Francis, the man pictured in the second photo, on the right, saw me carrying my camera and asked to take my photo. I complied and asked for him to return the favor. As I walked home, I stopped to capture a copse of bamboo trees and the ever-under construction Marriott (still at it after almost 2 years). All images captured with Nikon D600.
I make photographs for clients ranging from the government of Rwanda, Visa, Inc., Johns Hopkins University and the Rwanda national newspaper, The New Times. My Picture of the Day project is here to serve a few purposes: to expose my growing international audience to what life is like as an expat, to keep my photography chops well-exercised and to gain future freelance jobs. Please feel free to email me at julierue@gmail.com with any queries.
